Lip Volume & Definition
The lips are one of the most expressive features of the face and one of the most looked at facial features. The lips can be enhanced by volume, shape and definition to improve their appearance.
As we age and due to genetics, some people may notice the appearance of the lips thinning or elongating and losing definition.
Our clinic offers a non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment that can help to enhance the natural look of your lips, restoring fullness and creating a more balanced and defined appearance.
Using a prescription-only product, we may enhance lip volume and shape, tailored to your unique features and aesthetic goals.
Benefits
The benefits of the treatment can depend on what the patient's primary concern or aesthetic goal is.
Commonly the benefits experienced are:
- Enhance lip volume and add fullness to naturally thin lips or lips that have lost volume and shape over time
- Improve lip definition by defining the border and shape of the lips for a more structured look
- Natural looking results that appear subtle and respect the facial anatomy without looking overdone
- Long lasting effects - typically several months to 1+ year depending on area treated and products used
- Non-surgical and minimally invasive with little to no downtime
The procedure
The procedure involves careful administration of a prescription-only product into the lips to enhance their volume, shape and definition. A fine needle or cannula may be used to ensure precision and comfort during the treatment.
During the procedure, a fine needle is used to administer the product to the desired areas.
A topical numbing cream or ice application may be applied to reduce discomfort.
Results are visible immediately, with improvements in the outcome once any swelling and bruising subside.
The best and most natural results are typically seen 1 month after treatment, as the treated area settles and integrate.
Who is a good candidate?
Those who are seeking to achieve a balanced, natural look that compliments your facial features while providing enhanced volume and definition.
Ideal candidates may be looking to improve the following:
- Fuller or more defined lips
- Correcting asymmetry or unevenness in lip shape
- Increasing hydration to the lips
- Reducing fine lines of the lips or fine lines around the lips, depending on the concern and targeted treatment
A consultation with our Registered Nurse and medical team is required to determine if this treatment is right for you.
Candidates should have realistic expectations, as results typically last 6-12 months, with some treatments lasting longer.
The treatments are not suited to those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, trying to conceive or have allergies to bee stings.

Frequently Asked Questions
How may treatments do I need?
Most clients achieve their desired results after a single treatment. We will discuss with you how you what goals you would like to achieve.
Results typically last between 6-12+ months, as the product gradually dissolves and is absorbed by the body. To maintain your results, touch-up treatments are often recommended every 6-12+ months, depending on your metabolism and desired outcome. Depending on the product, there may be 12+ months longevity.
During your consultation, we will assess your goals and create a personalised treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain the look you want.
Does the treatment hurt?
Treatments are generally well-tolerated, and most clients experience minimal discomfort. The procedure involves small injections using fine needles or cannulas.
To further reduce any discomfort:
- A topical numbing cream may be applied before the procedure.
- Ice packs can be used to numb the area and minimise swelling.
- Distraction tools can be used.
Most clients describe the sensation as a slight pressure or pinch rather than pain. If you have concerns about discomfort, let us know during your consultation, and we can discuss ways to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
