Volume, Definition & Structure

As we age, the natural volume and structure of the face can diminish and decrease in collagen and elastin production. This can lead to common areas of the face such as cheeks, jawline, lower face and lips to appear less defined or full.

Our clinic offers non-surgical treatments for facial volume enhancement, restoring structure and providing definition and contour to areas such as the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, and mid-face.
The treatments may also help to provide a rejuvenated appearance as well as balancing the features of the face.

Benefits

The benefits of the treatment can depend on what the patient's primary concern or aesthetic goal is. Commonly the benefits experienced are:
  • Restoring and enhancing volume
  • Defining facial features - creating balance and symmetry
  • Subtle and natural looking results
  • Long-lasting effects - typically several months to years depending on area treated
  • Non-surgical and minimally invasive with little to no downtime

The procedure

The procedure involves careful administration of a prescription-only product into targeted areas to restore or enhance volume and structure.

During the procedure, a fine needle is used to administer the product to the desired areas.
A topical numbing cream or ice application may be applied to reduce discomfort.
Results are visible immediately, with improvements in the outcome once any swelling and bruising subside.
The best and most natural results are typically seen 1 month after treatment, as the treated area settles and integrate.

Who is a good candidate?

Those who are seeking to enhance or restore lost volume or create structure and symmetry. These changes may be due to aging, weight loss or other environmental factors.

Ideal candidates may be looking to improve the following:
  • Volume in the cheeks, lips or jawline or mid-face
  • Seeking facial definition or restoration, particularly in the chin or jawline
  • Fine lines and hollowing, depending on treated area

A consultation with our Registered Nurse and medical team is required to determine if this treatment is right for you.
Candidates should have realistic expectations, as results typically last 6-12 months, with some treatments lasting up to 18 months.
The treatments are not suited to those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, trying to conceive or have allergies to bee stings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most clients see noticeable results after a single treatment.

However, the number of treatments you may need depends on your goals, the area being treated, the amount of volume loss and the type of product used. Results typically last between 6-18 months, depending on the product and area treated.

Maintenance sessions are recommended as the product gradually dissolves.
During your consultation, we’ll create a tailored plan to help you achieve and maintain your desired results.

Treatments are generally well-tolerated, and most clients experience minimal discomfort. The procedure involves small injections using fine needles or cannulas.

To further reduce any discomfort:

  • A topical numbing cream may be applied before the procedure.
  • Ice packs can be used to numb the area and minimise swelling.
  • Distraction tools can be used.

Most clients describe the sensation as a slight pressure or pinch rather than pain. If you have concerns about discomfort, let us know during your consultation, and we can discuss ways to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
